Biography-Don't Die Cindy is a band hailing from Panama City, FL. made up of 4 people that share common interests in creating a different genre of music; creative, original, atmospheric rock, with sincere, honest, intriguing lyrics. Don’t Die Cindy made their start in ‘97 and ‘98 as playing in different bands all the way up until 2003 when they joined together.
After front man Patrick Hosey left punk rock behind in 2000 he started creating more sincere music in a solo project entitled Don't Die Cindy. Patrick traveled in search of musicians to accompany him for over a year, but after nothing but disappointment he was forced to return home, joining with bassist; Ryan. It was shortly after that, that guitarist; Jonathan along with drummer; Steve would join after the break up of embraced (melodic hardcore band on theory 8 records). After one show, keyboardist Mike Andersen joined to complete the line up. After over 2 years of hard work, and touring mike called it quits to pursue future endeavors.
Don’t Die Cindy has done nothing but work as hard as possible to further themselves since the band started. After releasing the self titled, self released EP in 2004 the band has toured over 300 dates, 200 of those dates in 2005 alone. Touring to the west coast twice and once up the east coast along with many miscellaneous regional weeklong and weekend mini-tours, the band continues to network their fan base, with plans to tour much, much more.
The name Don't Die Cindy originated from a documentary on the September 11th attacks of the World Trade Center (Read Full Story). There is really no genre to simply throw Don’t Die Cindy into. Some have titled the band as “art rock”, “emo prog rock”, “space rock”, etc. If you take the atmospheric feel from bands such as Pink Floyd and Radiohead, mix it with the intoxicating beauty of Sarah Mclachlan, and Coldplay, and add influences from Copeland, Twothirtyeight, Die Radio Die, No Doubt, Cave In and Year of the Rabbit, you have Don’t Die Cindy. So we invite you to come along and travel to another place, both through music and performance.
