Biography-Brown Feather Sparrow was formed in September 1999 by singer-songwriter Lydia Wever. With influences of Ida, Over the Rhine, Rosie Thomas and The Sundays, her music is described as moody poetic pop. The first demo was recorded in 2001, which resulted in some good reviews and airplay. In 2003 Brown Feather Sparrow was signed to Volkoren Records. The debut album ‘Wide Awakens Everything’ was recorded by René de Vries, who worked with A Balladeer and At the Close of Everyday. In December 2004 there was enough material for a new album. ‘Let’s Be Fine’ was also recorded by René de Vries, but mixed at the Mailmen studio of Martijn Groeneveld (Solo/ Wealthy Beggar/ Mist).

Little sparrows have to grow. At some point they have to start to fly on their own. The debut album was produced by Axel Kabboord and René de Vries. They did a great job, but this time Lydia and Arjen decided to do the production themselves. This resulted in an album with a more organic sound. The keyboards and several electronics disappeared and made room for accordion, upright bass, table harmonium and even ukulele.

In the past years Lydia has obviously grown as a singer-songwriter. The songs on ‘Let’s Be Fine’ are to the point, more diverse and modestly arranged. Lydia’s bright voice and her poetic lyrics lift the songs to a higher level. Accompanied by her skillfull band, she manages to create her own universe. ‘Place yourself into the beautiful world of this talented young lady and hum softly along.’ (Oor 22, November 2003).
